Girl, Put Your Apron On

I know I'll be spending lots of time this summer in our kitchen. I love cooking in the summertime.
Cliff & I have already talked about dedicating Saturday mornings to searching our local farmers markets for the perfect bell peppers & sharing a dish of vanilla ice cream drizzled with a bit of homemade blueberry sauce after dinner. (Can you tell that after counting calories for the three months before our wedding day, that I am overly excited to not log every bite?)

 Greek yogurt pancakes, Parmesan baked asparagus, and banana split trifles aside... I decided to invest in a new apron, & a beautiful one at that.

Look at this beaut! It's the Tea & Crumpet apron from Anthropologie in blue.

Isn't it lovely?! I thought that it was not possible to be more excited to spend an hour or two each night preparing meals for Cliff & I, but as it turns out...I'm even more excited than before.
Does anyone else have an apron that they adore?

Post Office Musings

There was an elderly lady in line ahead of me at the post office this morning; an employee asked the lady what her summer plans were & without hesitation she said, "Planting tulips & enjoying my husband!"

Can you even think of a better answer than that?

I have the same summer plans at 21, but to have them at 80 is the sweetest thing in the world. My day has been made.

I seriously wish I would have asked her if she wanted to grab a cup of coffee. On my way back home I was just wondering how they met, how long they've been married, and what kinds of amazing stories she has from all of those years with the same person. I can only imagine how strong a love can grow to in a lifetime.

I'm officially inspired & had to share that piece of my day with you!

Birthday & Anniversary Organizer

I don't know about you guys, but I 'm awful at remembering dates. I have the B- in my History 150 class to prove it.

So...

I wanted to incorporate a document into our household binder to serve as a kind reminder to mail out a package or card to our loved ones on their special day. I couldn't find a template online that listed each date of the year; most of the templates only had a few blanks for each month.

That's when I decided to spend my afternoon making this document...it is 12 pages in length {one page for each month} & allows for you to jot down two events for each day of the year. We just refer to the list each month to add the dates onto our main calendar. The marigins are 1" on each side so you can use a hole puncher to add it to your binder!

Click here to download your own copy of the birthday/anniversary organizer!

Now go print this out & check out Lula Louise's blog for some free birthday tag printables!

Fonts used:
  1. Bergamot Ornaments {for the decorative leaf }
  2. Pea Ellie Bellie {for each month title}
  3. Type Keys Filled {for the dates}

Every Housewife Needs A Blog

I decided to start this blog today in anticipation of starting my life with Cliff - we're just 50 days away from our wedding day & I'm getting SO excited to move to Arkansas with him. We've been apart for way too long & I can only imagine how perfect it will be to get to talk to him early in the morning without having to pick up my phone.

We're starting on a lot of our Pinterest-inspired projects for our house from record player stands to coffee bars. I'm feeling super crafty & Cliff's feeling quite ambitious. We're so excited to have a home that reflects our personalities & that will make for a sweet place for us to spend the vast majority of our time.

I keep picturing this summer and it's so WONDERFUL. There's a pitcher of watermelon sweet tea in our refrigerator, Cliff wakes me up at the crack of dawn for a morning run before work, I have dinner on the table for him at approximately 6:00, our living room contains over 10 shades of teal, and we spend our Saturdays climbing Pinnacle Mountain. Yes, life will be so much better when we're together again. We'll be posting updates on here as we go along so stay posted! :)
